Okay - Book 2, Runaway Love is the continuation of the Brown County series, and it was even better than the first! This book can be read as a stand-alone, though I would recommend reading Book 1 "Not Alone" first just so that you get a feel for all of the characters, prime and secondary.

I loved this story of Maggie (with her tattered past) and Charlie (with his current secrets) two people that are destined to be together, though there are times when it brought a lot of angst to me while reading it!! OMG - the emotions were so varied as I read their story. There were moments that I laughed - and others where I teared up. Any book that evokes those emotions in the reader is a winner for sure.

I admired Maggie's strength in rising about what life had dealt her. No whiney-poohing around for this girl. And Charlie? I FELL in love with him in Book 1!!

No spoilers, but suffice it to say that Amber Nation's writing style, along with her ability to create such a beautiful story that absolutely roped me in to the point where I felt I was a voyeur in the character's lives is amazing! It just keeps getting better! I can hardly wait until the next book!!!

I know I might be a little prejudice because I know Amber very well, but this book was so good. I know when she started it wasn't going to be a series but now she really needs to hurry with book 3. Loved the story of Maggie and Charlie and can't wait to hear about Toby & Gio, or Mike and Sheridan.
I loved this book! I had a difficult time putting it down. I fell in love with Charlie right from the start. Maggie is a character that you can easily relate to and instantly like. This was my first time reading a book by Amber Nation but I can guarantee it will not be my last!
Sweet romance with a strong but shy young woman from a horrible childhood. Maggie worked hard to reach her dream of being a nurse to help.others. Charlie is a strong man ,an FBI agent,following his dad's dreams for him. Each one is the perfect person for the other but secrets cause problems even if necessary.
I fell in love with this book. It hit very close to home with me, Maggie reminded me of myself quite a bit. They way she feels throughout the story breaks your heart until the end and you get to see how it all plays out. Def a must read
I absolutely loved this book. The alternating point of views let you see inside to each characters emotions and thoughts. Charlie and Maggie's story will warm your heart. This book had everything I look for in a novel, a great love story, suspense and chemistry. 5 golden stars for Amber Nation!
Awww this book was sweet, but I was holding breath at times because of the things that were happening. Then talk about dropping your jaw?, I did that too, tearing up and crying absolutely. It was a wonderful story and true love. I guess sometimes we have to come out of your comfort zone. You never know what you might find or they may find you. Great story
Maggie hasn't had a easy life. A abusive father and a mother who wasn't attentive. At that time she only had her brother mason who eventually turns into a man just like her father. But Maggie is determined to make a better life, escape and she does. She is a nurse something she knew she wanted to be but she is a loner. Sticks to herself. But that's about to change because the sexy FBI agent Charlie is about to enter her life and sweep her off her feet. She's never known love until Charlie weasels his way into her heart but there are secrets that are bound to tear them apart.
I don't believe in love at first sight, lust definitely bit this story ales you believe it. I really enjoyed it. Toby cracks me up and I was so happy for Maggie to find friends who lived her and Charlie who adored her.
